Slim fit has suddenly become a must have shape for lots of people now a-days. With our fiancés jokingly asking us to watch it or our hubbies making us feel bad that we are no longer figure eight like when we just got married – forgetting we are now ‘after one, two or three’. Allow me to state here that majority of people who begin the process of shedding weight either stop along the line or ‘seam’ not to just be getting it.
1. Being Prepared
Losing weight as most people think is not only about dieting, exercising and all those ‘what tos’ and ‘what not tos’ regarding food. Once you do not arm your self by being ready you will quit half way.
Losing weight is not a destination in the sense that you see losing weight as a place you want to get to but it is a life style. So you are going to change your life style and you have to be ready. Be determined, get all the knowledge you can before commencing and keep learning even in your new life – losing weight.
Yeah, tell yourself the truth and be realistic, you will make mistakes and give in to some cravings once in a while or better still stop at some point but teach yourself to pick up even after a fall. Motivate yourself or get some to help keep you motivated.
2. Understand The Dieting Myths
There are lot of myths flying around about losing weight which are not necessarily facts and the better you get to understand them the better.
Here They Are…
Starvation is the best way to loose weight: Your body needs food to run not just food but a balanced one at that. So, starvation only succeeds in running you down which most times will lead to craving high calorie meals that in turn adds weight to your body.
Pills: Slimming pills do not work efficiently for long term weight loss and its best if it is recommended by a doctor.
Healthy foods are not affordable: This is not true at all. Now lets check this; if you get to any of the fast food restaurants and order a meal you will discover that if you prepared that same meal at home, and with even fresher ingredients it would be far cheaper. I know because you are even nodding your head.
Rigorous exercise routine is the best way: Well sorry to disappoint you, you could do that but once you stop the fat starts building back. So better if you cultivate a regular routine that you can keep pace with and ensure you burn up more calories than you eat.
Stopping the eating of snacks will help: This may be true but to an extent. Once you take the right snacks which preferably should be more with fruits and vegetables also with low sugar or oil you are good to go.
Sex will make you shed weight: Ok I got you there, right? Well study shows that the same pressure released when you go for a workout is the same with having sex but, the average timing of sex is only but 6 mins which obviously is not enough.
3. Set Realistic Goals
As simple as it is most often we get emotional about the whole thing and set unrealistic goals such as wanting to shed all fat in one week. Though some school of thoughts may accept that but I do not recommend that because you are 100% likely to gain the weight back because weight loss is a Life Style.
ALWAYS eat the rainbow colours. Get various colour of food for your self;
RED – tomatoes, watermelon
GREEN – avocado, cabbage, cucumber, apple
YELLOW – banana, oranges
ORANGE – carrot, mangoes
BLUE/PURPLE- blackberries, grapes
Be careful because when you loose weight rapidly and begin to gain it back, it could lead to kidney stone.
