While months roll out, the Facebook Team keep updating and changing the way Facebook looks and works. One of these changes also happens to its Fan Pages and Groups. Sending messages to Facebook Group members is now an old story to Group Admins. But in the new interface of the present fan page, we can still send messages to our fans in form of an ‘update’ which the page fans will received in their Facebook Inbox/Message. Like the old Group, this update can only be sent by the Fan Page Admins. So if you are an admin of a Facebook Fan Page and you really want to get to your Fans directly, the good news is, you can send updates to them.
See below on how you can quickly send messages or updates to your Facebook Fans.
1. Go to your ‘Facebook Fan Page‘
2. Click ‘EDIT PAGE‘ by the top-right
3. On the next page, by the left, click ‘Marketing‘
4. Then click ‘Send an Update‘
5. On the compose page, enter the subject and the message you wish to send, then click ‘Send‘.
That is it. You have just send a message to your Facebook Fan Page.
However, the down-side of this method is that, from observation, most messages/updates sent this way, do not land in the ‘Inbox’ folder but in ‘Other’ folder. Since most Facebook users hardly check this ‘Other’ folder for messages, it is likely that our messages would not be read by our fans. But at least, we can send a message and our fans can recieve them. That is okay, right? At least, 50% of the fans might read them. Why don’t you say a little ‘Thank You SOJ’ by sharing this with your facebook friends. Till the next update. But before you go, make sure you subscribe to my feed by dropping your email address below so you will not miss the next update from me.
