You have created a website or blog. You have started writing articles and posting contents on the blog. You have been designing and pimping your blog. And now, visitors are coming little by little. Traffic is coming. Now what? Next is to monitor how you are getting those traffics. Where the traffic is coming from, and then work on your lapses and increase your blog traffic.
Although there are different tools, both free and paid, that you can use to track your blog traffic, such as Google Analytics, but personally I use StatCounter on this blog.
StatCounter, owned by Aodhán Cullen, is a free website traffic statistic counter, available for free and paid users. However, the basic plan which is the free plan is enough for a starter. With the free package, you can find everything you need to know about your blog stats.
Features of StatCounter
- It monitors actual human activities on your blog, in real-time
- It can be used 100% free of charge – no credit card required and
- It is easy to install
How to Use StatCounter to Monitor and Track Your Blog Traffic
1. Go to www.statcounter.com and register for free
2. Login with your details
3. On the tab, click Add Project
4. Then enter the necessary details and click the Add Project button
5. Next get your tracking code, copy it and paste it into your blog header.php
To insert the code automatically into your website, you can download the Official StatCounter Plugin for popular platform like WordPress blogs and others.
Then after this, StatCounter will start monitoring and reading your blog traffic statistics. Then you can know how many people visit your blog per day, where they are coming from, how they get to your blog, what their platform is, their country, the keywords they use and so on.
I believe this post has helped you a lot. Why not share it with your friends, they will appreciate it.
