You must have heard it one way or the other that blogging about your passion is the best way to achieve blog success. In other words, you are always advised to choose a niche that you are passionate about and build a blog around it. However, writing from experience, it does not always has to be. That is the reason I have choosen not to agree (totally) with that. In my own words, what you actually need to be a successful blogger is PASSION TO WRITE.
It is simple! Well, it will be very simple to you if you understand the word ‘blogging’. This is because blogging itself is an art of writing. In fact, the main reason that there is a blog in the first place, is the updated content (writing) itself. So without new and frequent writing, the blog become meaningless. Yes! This is because blogging is all about writing, writing and writing. You must have passion for writing to make your blog a continuous success.
Of course, I am not against the writings that says ‘blog about your passion’. To say the fact, it is one of those reasons that keep a blogger going, but it is not enough. Okay, let us put it this way… a blogger blogging about his/her passion, at a point in life lacks idea on what to write or just loose the passion to write, what do you think will happen to the blog? Your guess is much correct just as mine. That will be the end to that blog, no matter how great it is, the niche and the marketing strategy. Even if you keep getting new visitors, returning visitors will be low and gradually varnishes because there will be nothing new to read on the blog again.
Passion to Write is the Key to Blog Successful
Few days ago, I was discussing with a successful blogger and he shared with me how he started few years back. What brought up this discussion was that he said he was getting 3,000 unique visitors per day when his blog was 3 months old. It got me worrying, how come a newbie, without integrating PPC or any other paid traffic, getting about 3,000 visitors to a 3 months blog? Then he started talking… it is all about content! “I write at least 1 article per day and after 3 months, I was doing 3,000 unique visitors, mostly from organic traffic”. That is what I called passion to write!
Therefore, I am making the conclusion here that passion to write is the most important factor that keeps a blog alive. It is the driving force behind every successful blogs out there. Without passion to write, your blog journey will end no matter what. So before starting up a (new) blog, think about it, ask yourself this question… “Do I have the passion to write”? Possessing this kind of passion can take you to the lenght you do not imagine yourself. Passion to write will keep you going always, even at the time of ‘no post idea’ situation.
So to make a successful blog, we need to combine these two factors – passion to write and writing about your passion. However, the most important which could determine the success of your blog journey is PASSION TO WRITE. It is a different ball game to write about your passion and to have the passion to write. With this passion, your blog can not run out of post, traffic and cash. This is the formula… more posts equal more traffic and more traffic equals more money.
More posts will be more traffic because if there is nothing to write, there will be nothing to read, hence, no post to gain traffic from search engines and other places. And if there is no traffic, there will be no one to read your blog, hence, no one to buy your products or use your services.
The point I am making in this post is to have PASSION to WRITE and your blog will be successful. Of course, writing only do not determine the success of a blog, other factors also comes in. Not just writing, but writing relevant, unique and quality content. Also, SEO, networking, marketing, and others factors also come into play to making a successful blog. In my opinion, passion to write is the most important to making a successful blog because writing is the core definition of blogging itself. Without writing, there is no blog.
